Aisling Pomeroy-King, MS CCC-SLP Lead Speech Therapist Aisling has been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2006. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. She completed her Masters in Speech- Language Pathology at Northern Arizona University. She is a Flagstaff native and is very familiar with activities and resources in the Flagstaff area. She loves working with young children and families. She enjoys skiing, running, “pintrest-ing,” and hiking in and around Flagstaff with her husband and kids. She is currently working on her Spanish skills to be able to work with bilingual families. |
Brittany Baird, SLPA Brittany Baird SLPA earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ in May of 2021. Brittany has worked with children since 2016. She has experience as a teacher’s aid, and as a stay at home Mom. She has lots of experience with diverse populations. She has previously worked in the Beaver Creek District. She has a great understanding of child development and loves working with kids. Brittany came to NRTA in June, 2023. She currently serves schools and home based clients. In her spare time Brittany loves reading and spending time with her kids. |
Meggan Brownfield,MS CCC-SLP Meggan has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University. Meggan specializes in working with infants and young children and their families through the Arizona Early Intervention Program. She also specializes in working with childhood speech apraxia. Meggan has been a speech-language pathologist since 2007. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, baking, knitting, and spending time with her family. |
Kristine Coons, MS CCC-SLP Kristine earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Kristine loves working with kids and families of all ages and cultures. She is an advocate for her clients and families. Kristine develops effective strategies to ensure that therapy is successful. In her spare time Kristine loves spending time with her family and the outdoors. |
Becky Gewald, MS CCC-SLP Becky Gewald attended the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, WI to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders. After this, she obtained her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Becky has been practicing for 20 years and specializes in early intervention and elementary school-aged children. Becky services clients in Page, Grand Canyon, and Flagstaff. |
Lauren Gross, MS CCC-SLP Lauren earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She then went on to earn a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Lauren has experience in home healthcare, ear, nose and throat clinics, literacy centers, and speech and hearing clinics, as well as hospital experience. She has worked with clients of all ages with wide varieties of conditions. She loves working in early intervention and with families. |
Judith King, PhD CCC-SLP Judith (Judy) King earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication Disorders and Speech Science at the University of Colorado. She has been a subcontractor for Northland Speech and Hearing and NRTA for well over 25 years. Her areas of specialization include the treatment of stuttering, transgender communication and disorders of voice, articulation/phonology, resonance/cleft palate, language/literacy, and accent reduction in clients of all ages. She loves working with Native American families. Dr. King is a faculty member at NAU in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. |

Susan Martin, MA CCC-SLP Susan Martin went to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology, and a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. Sue has been practicing for over 35 years and specializes in early language development, neurological impairments, and working with individuals with cleft lips and cleft palates. She has hospital experience, as well as experience in home, clinic, and school-based settings. Susan currently serves as an SLPA supervisor. |
Tina Nation, MS CCC-SLP Tina attended Northern Arizona University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology, as well as a Master of Science in Communication Science and Disorders. She has provided services all over northern Arizona in a variety of settings and enjoys seeing all the backroads. Tina specializes in early intervention, autism, language/literacy and AAC. |
Kali Reynolds, B.S., SLPA Kali is a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, having attended Northern Arizona University to obtain her Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Biology. Kali has practiced for over two years as a SLP Assistant, working with NRTA and participating in clinical practicum experience at the NAU Speech Therapy Clinic and within the Clarkdale-Jerome School District. Kali has a wide range of experience working with preschool to adult populations, providing clinic, home health, telehealth and school-based services. She has an increased interest in working with AAC devices and Speech Sound Disorders. Kali provides support in client homes, at the office, and at the schools of Pinion, Dilcon, Pine Springs, STAR Charter, Havasupai Elementary, and Havasupai Head Start. Kali loves to hike, read, everything about animals, and photography. |
Cheryl Saganitso, M.A., CCC-SLP Cheryl has joined NRTA as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Arizona State University before attending the University of Kansas, where she obtained her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. She has been in the SLP field for over 20 years. Her career has spanned many areas: 3 years with Tuba City USD, 3-4 years as a subcontractor with central and eastern Navajo reservation schools, 3 years with STARS (worked in the Creighton, Peoria, and Littleton school districts), 4 years with Shonto Preparatory School, and finally 7 years with Tuba City Regional Healthcare Corporation. Currently, Cheryl is supporting speech-language needs at Chinle USD, Shonto Preparatory School, and Tuba City Boarding School. She is a proud aunt to 6 (awesome) nephews and nieces that often keep her on her toes. SHe is part of a small group of “Breakfast Club” ladies in her town of Tuba City that hike, run, and have breakfast and conversation together; a great stress reliever! Her hobbies include lots of sewing and supporting the extracurricular activities of her (awesome) nephews and nieces. |
Shuvawn Sweet, MA CCC-SLP Shuvawn is a Speech-Language Pathologist with NRTA. Having attended the University of Akron, Shuvawn obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders. Returning to the University of Akron, Shuvawn obtained a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology. She has practiced for 30-plus years in varied settings, the most recent being in schools. Shuvawn has also worked with adults in rehabilitation settings and children with early intervention and schools. She most loves working with students to help them establish great communication and learn to advocate for themselves. With NRTA, Shuvawn is providing SLP services in Tuba City. She enjoys hiking in Flagstaff with her husband. |
Cameron Thomas-Abedon, MS CCC-SLP Cam is a Speech-Language Pathologist that attended Northern Arizona University to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. Cam then returned to NAU to obtain her Master of Science in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology. When Cam was young, she worked at a daycare, babysat, and began a local playgroup. She has taught college classes and home-schooled her own children. Working with Behavioral Consultation Services, Cam assisted children with autism as well as assisted autistic adults at Rusty’s Morningstar Ranch. Cam has practiced Speech-Language Pathology for the past four years, and has received training in voice. Cam also has a Masters of Education in Exceptional Education with concentration on Autism Speciality. With Northland Rural Therapy Associates, Cam provides SLP services at schools on the Navajo and Hopi Nations as well as with adults in Flagstaff locations. Cam spends her free time with the family ponies, ducks, and an energetic Eskie who loves to hike! |
Canon Tulloss, MS CFY-SLP Canon has joined NRTA as a Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Communication Disorders from Northern Arizona University. Continuing her education at Arizona State University, she obtained her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Canon has worked with adults in outpatient settings as well as early intervention in private practices. She is currently providing services to school-aged children in Parks, Flagstaff, Pinion, and Havasupai. She also enjoys working with clients and implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices. She is constantly looking for new book recommendations and loves being active and outside! |
Saskia van Hecke, M.S. CCC-SLP Saskia is a speech Language Pathologist with NRTA. She attended the Wageningen University in the Netherlands, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science. She then attended the University of Arizona to obtain her Master degree. She has been practicing speech therapy for 4 years. She spent her previous years with Tucson Unified School District, Park Avenue Health and Rehabilitation Services in Tucson, and one previous year with Northland Rural Therapy Associates. Saskia is trained in Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) for Childhood Apraxia of Speech, and has a graduate certificate in Bilingual Speech-Langugage Pathology. Saskia is servicing NRTA clients in Pinion, Greasewood Springs, Flagstaff, Munds Park, and Doney Park communities. Saskia loves baking, hiking with her husband, crafts, doing home improvement projects, playing with her cat Cricket, and science fiction books/movies. |
Laura Wilson, MS CCC-SLP Laura Wilson went to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. She has been practicing for over twenty years in a variety of settings. Laura specializes in oral motor and feeding disorders. She currently serves the Flagstaff area. Laura is fluent in Spanish. She loves kids, the outdoors, being creative, and spending time with her family. |
